May all of your dreams come true!!  If one of them came true, wouldn’t it be a blessing?  Well I wanted to share with you something so very sweet that happened to me that makes me a firm believer that there is a rainbow around every corner!   About two months ago I was asked to take a spot on the Splitcoaststampers Design Team – the Dirty Dozen.  It was so totally unexpected that it really knocked me off my feet.  I was so honored that of course I said yes, so now I embark on a six month tenure with the finest papercrafters in the industry.  I was inducted at the same time as another gifted stamper, Cammie over at MyBlogbyCammie.  We cheered and supported each other through the first exhilarating month.  Next month we will help as two new designers are ushered in.  You remember me saying I was asked two months ago, right?  Can you even imagine how hard it is to keep a secret that long!!  Well I did and I’m so glad you’re here to share with news with me today.

If you are not familiar with Splitcoaststampers or the Dirty Dozen please check it out HERE.  Splitcoaststampers is a large stamping community that harbors a wealth of information.  The Dirty Dozen is a set of 12 designers who produce elite projects that are shown in a special gallery exclusively available to The Fan Club.  On the 15th of each month a new gallery is revealed to those who have a membership in the Fan Club.

We’ve been working over the last month to pull together samples that illuminate the theme of Making a House a Home.  Seriously  talented submissions are waiting for your perusal in the Fan Club Gallery – if you haven’t joined the Fan Club yet, I hope you’ll consider jumping in.

For my card I have gravitated towards one of my favorite color groups – I call this pumpkin.  I set my stamped panel on top of a cut out using Spellbinders Mega Curved Rectangles then to illuminate the sentiment and give it a little bit of dimension I used a flourish piece from one of the New Spellbinders sets – Floral Accent # S4-199.

Card Recipe:
Stamps:  Retired PSX
Paper:  Bazzill, 140lb Strathmore Watercolor Paper
Ink:  Colorbox Pigment Ink – Amber and Rust
Accessories:  Ribbon, JBH Button, small adhesive jewels – Michaels
, Spellbinders Mega Curved Rectangles, Spellbinders Floral Accent #S4-199

Want to win some Shimmerz?!!!! Here is how!!!! Our Daily Bread Designs is having its first challenge. Our first challenge is a sketch challenge!!!! Three lucky winners will be chosen to receive a bottle of Shimmerz.   All you have to do to participate is use ODBD stamps as the focal image on your card, and post a comment to the ODBD blog HERE.  Here’s the sketch!

If you are uploading to SCS, please use these two codes (ODBDSC01 and ODBD) so we can find your cards there too! As for the sketch, just remember that you can turn it, make it larger or smaller, or flip it – whatever works for your design. You have until January 23 to join in the challenge for a chance to win! I look forward to seeing what you create. To see what the other Design team members have done with this sketch check out their blogs….they are on my sidebar!

Here is my entry for the sketch challenge.

The card is fairly simple.  After laying a base panel I cut/emboss a Spellbinder Classic Frame S5-012 and mounted it horizontally.  I then cut a 4 x 4 panel that I rotated so that the corners could be tucked in on the sides.  Then I cut a 3" panel onto which I stamped the cross of nails and sentiment and rotated so that it stood on the matching axis.  I finished off with piercing, gold pearls and ribbon.  Easy!

Card Recipe:
Stamps:  Our Daily Bread Designs – He is Risen
Paper:  Prima, Bazzill, 140lb Strathmore Watercolor Paper
Ink:  Distress Ink – Vintage Photo, Distress Ink – Walnut Stain
Accessories:  Spellbinder Classic Frame S5-012, Ribbon, Gold Pearls, Ornare Piercing Template

Have I told you lately how much I love the new Spellbinders Lg Octagon nestabilities…?

When I got my hands on them this is the first thing I made.   Someone says octagon?  I think of a stop sign.  So I replicated one to put it on my card, a Valentines Day Card.  This was seriously a fun, fun card to make.  I’ve had this truck sitting on my desk for a month just screaming to be water colored!

The entire card opens from top to bottom where you can put another sentiment inside or leave it blank for writing.  The stop sign itself is a mini card that opens left to right and is perfect for a gift card!!  As I mentioned, I water colored this delightful truck then I used an alphabet set to stamp on the bottom of the card.  Lastly I cut a small heart from  the Spellbinders Scalloped Heart set and embossed the inside of the heart with a Versamark Pen and embossed with white embossing powder.  The Stop letters are also added with a Spellbinders alphabet.

Remember there are still prizes that are being given for the Spellbinders Blog Frenzy.  Pop in and visit Sharon Harnest of Paperfections today for the new die she is revealing and Sharon will outline those designers who are still scheduled for reveals!   If you have any questions at all about the rules to the contest or any details, please be sure to visit the Spellbinders Blog!

Card Recipe:
Stamps:  Printworks (truck), Stampendous (stamped alphabet)
Paper:  140lb Strathmore Watercolor Paper, The Paper Company – Red, Black
Ink:  Distress and Adirondack Reinkers, SU Ruby Red
Accessories:  Spellbinders LG Octagons, SKU #S4-185, Spellbinders Classic Scalloped Heart, ribbon, heart pin

Stop the presses Becca this is seriously cute.

My white Chevy Silverado truck is now begging to be colored red! I suppose it’s possible its tired of just being muddy but I choose to think it wants in on the Valentine action. After all I fell in love with my husband in part because of his red Datsun wagon! – lol!

I tend to forget how cute the words can look spelled out with alphabet stamps instead of searching for the perfect text stamp! I love that each letter has a little random kittywumpus thing going on.
