Believe

Greetings!  Today I’m sharing a card made with one of the newly released Flourishes sets called Holly Background.  Shades of Christmas, this background is absolutely gorgeous and the detailing is amazing.  What a release – there are five additional new sets and you can see them HERE.

I stamped the Holly Background using a green dye based ink and colored the berries with a red copic marker.  The reason I didn’t use a water based marker is because I wanted something permanent that would not mix with the white I was going to use for the highlights on the berries.  For the highlights I used a fine tipped white paint pen.

It’s been a while since I’ve done a filigree flower and I thought it would look nice behind the poinsettia I cut using Spellbinders Nested Poinsettia.  The filigree flower is made using one of the swirls from Spellbinders Doodle Parts.   If you are interested in seeing how the filigree flower works I did a tutorial quite some time ago that you can find HERE.  To finish off the card I stamped Believe from the Santa I Believe set and cut it out using Spellbinders Tags 5 and matted it using Spellbinders Petite Ovals Large.

So, hop on over and see all the Christmas goodness that Flourishes has cooked up for you – six new sets – how are you coming along on your Christmas cards?

Card Recipe:
Stamps:  Flourishes – Holly Background, Santa I Believe
Paper:  The Paper Company, Bazzill
Ink:  Green Dye Based Ink, Red Dye Based Ink
Accessories:  Spellbinders Doodle Parts, Spellbinders Nested Poinsettia, Spellbinders Tags Five, Spellbinders Petite Ovals Large, Ribbon, Pearl, Copic Marker, Fine Tip White Paint Marker

Oh my goodness, it’s a stamping kind of day. . .

Oh Becca! How clever you are!!
I was making a get well card for a friend based loosely on the fleur de lis pendant card that you did a while ago but it just wasn’t working and I couldn’t get it to go right. Today’s post reminded me of the doodle parts flower and guess what it is just the thing!
    Many thanks for your inspiration.
Bye the way I notice the Triangle box at the bottom of your post. I used this recently for the favor boxes at my daughter’s wedding. Needless to say I had very many compliments! However making 80 of them WAS a challenge!!!! :)ReplyCancel

I thought the background was designer paper – you did a great job stamping & colouring it. Love the way the sheer ribbon draws your eye into the middle to the flower.

Becca, you did it again. Truly magnificent. I took a peak at the lovely new stamps and it made me realize just how much talent you have in doing such an interesting card with the background stamp. So many of us just stamp out bg stamps, and you took colouring outside the box.ReplyCancel

    Becca,

This card is absolutely gorgeous! How on earth did you make your card stock flowers look so real? With an embossing stylus? I love how you stamped and colored the background.
