Another Sneak Peek

Good golly!!!  I have another sneak peek for you.  I don’t always do sneak peeks but I hope you’ll indulge me on this one.  This started out a totally different card, different company, different feel.  Once I got the focal panel done there was no way to fit the sentiment I wanted because of the way the border needed to fit.  This new Our Daily Bread Designs set has been sitting on my desk as I work on the June releases and look . . . this scripture sentiment fits perfectly!!!  I should tell you that this set will be one of my favorites.  There are a handful of ODBD sets that I use so much that I gave up on putting them away and they reside permanently on the edge of my work table.  This will be one of those sets; it is called Scripture Series 1 and you will be able to see it in its full glory on June 1st.

I know you will ask :) so I’ll try to preempt a couple of questions here.  The card is 5.5" x 7.5".  The focal panel is made with Spellbinders and Martha Stewart Rain Drop border and corner punches.  The bottom layer is punched and I began with a piece of paper that was 3.75" x 4.75" and the corners are rounded with a corner punch.  The next layer up is Spellbinders™ Big Scalloped Rectangles Large.  The next layer is the same set of punches and I began with a piece of paper that was 2.75" x 3.75".  This is one of the punches that works with the "fudging" technique I showed you HERE.  I topped the next layer with Spellbinders™ Classic Rectangles LG

Just for pretty embellishment I pulled out one of my new Tim Holtz memo pins and it so nicely holds a little flower cut with Spellbinders™ Flower Bouquet.  This is probably TMI but I pulled the little round element from the Spellbinders™ Lotus Pendant set (the tiny element that looks like a chain) and used it behind my flower as a mat – the scallops matched perfectly!!)  I tied on a bow with some silky grosgrain and simply stabbed the pin through the knot.  Note to self:  go find more of those pins.   Lol, me thinks you will see them again and soon :)

Card Recipe:
Stamps:  Our Daily Bread Designs – Scripture Series I
Paper:  The Paper Company – Blonde Columns, K & Company – Bailey and Margo
Ink:  Versafine Black Onyx
Accessories:  Spellbinders™ Big Scalloped Rectangles LG, Spellbinders™ Classic Rectangles LG, Spellbinders™ Flower Bouquet, Ribbon, Tim Holtz Memo Pin, Martha Stewart Rain Drop Border Punch, Martha Stewart Rain Drop Corner Punch

Getting excited about the long holiday weekend?  Yep, me too :-)

This is gorgeous Becca. I bet you were doing the happy dance when you saw that the image fit just perfectly. What a lovely sentiment it is too. I love your use of the punches. You certainly know how to use your punches to your advantage. Even the little flower with the embellishment looks so beautiful. As always Becca, TFS!!! :-DReplyCancel

I can’t wait for the new ODBD stamps to be released! I really like this sentiment. It and your card design can be used for many people and many occasions.

Becca, I know you are a “Spellbinders Girl”. Me, too, but have you ever considered trying a Cricut machine? They make some beautiful intricate flowers, butterflies, swirls, label shapes and lace backgrounds. PLUS you can make them ANY SIZE you want! Also, someone has invented an embossing tip for the Cricut now! AND, WORD IS…Cricut will be releasing a Martha Stewart cartridge in the near future…hmmm, if that doesn’t get ya, I don’t know what would. Also, if you are worried about a learning curve, there are great local classes and DVD’s out now to help with that! I don’t work for them, I just see that they have lots of stuff that would suit your style.

    Have a great day!ReplyCancel

    Becca,

I thought I had lots of toys to play with, but you definitely have me hands down. However, I do not think you are into the cricut die cuts. Why is that ? It really has supprised me that you aren’t. But you are doing great without. I always love your creations. You just amaze me day after day. This card is no exception. Gorgeous as always.
